Two gangs of bugrlars, car and motorcycle lifters busted in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 29 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have busted two gangs of burglars, car and motorcycle lifters and arrested five people.
However, one of the arrested person Adil Sidiq Matta shouted that he was not a car lifter or burglar as was being projected by the police.
I am innocent, Matta said when a senior police officer was addressing a press conference and introduced him as one of the gang members who were arrested alongwith stolen car, motor cycles, computers and other gadgets.
The officer said Aijaz Ahmad Sabloo alias Waseem and Adil Sidiq Matta alias Pinka were involved in lifting vehicles from different parts of the city.
Four Maruti cars lifted by them from Kashmir, Srinagar, Hazratbal, Bagat Barzulla and Karan Nagar and TVS motorcyle from Baramulla were recovered.
He said Adil has also committed a fraud by using forged cheques and has withdrawn an amount of Rs 35,000 from J and K Bank.
The officer said another gang consisting Firdous Ahmad Dandroo, Niyaz Ahmad Matta and Zahoor Ahmad were also arrested by police.
He said on their disclosure police recovered one car, two computers, one printer, one transformer and one gas cylinder.
