Six Lankan Tamil refugees arrive
Ramanathapuram, Feb 29 (UNI) Six Sri Lankan Tamil refugees, including four women, arrived here today, following continued strife between the army and LTTE in the island nation.
Official sources said the refugees Vijitha (24), Anushila Devi (40), Vanitha (20), Bhuvanitha (19), Ramachandran (29) and Karthikeyan, hailing from Mannar and Mullaitheevu areas in Sri Lanka arrived at Thalaithoppu seashore here with the help of a clandestine boat operator, after paying a sum of Rs 10,000 each.
Intelligence sleuths and local police interrogated them.
Later, they were sent to the refugee camp at Mandapam.
