Puducherry,Feb 29: Three fishermen of Nallavadu Village here who went missing on February 27, were traced off the Devanampatinam Coast in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu today.

According to police, Kulasekharan(46), Balakrishnan(57) and Damodaran (18) ventured into the sea on the day and were supposed to return yesterday morning.

Since they failed to return, the fibre boat owners association lodged a complaint with the Fisheries Department, who, in turn, alerted the Coast Guard.

A Coast Guard Ship conducted a search but could not trace the fishermen.

Meanwhile, fishermen who ventured into deep sea fishing from Cuddalore found the boat at mid-sea. They were told that a huge fish hit against the boat damaging the engine and spilling the diesel leaving them stranded.

The fishermen towed them to 15 km off Nallavadu and gave their cellphone to contact the fishermen on shore to get back.

However, they could not get anyone on phone and the boat gradually drifted towards Devanampatinam.

Fishermen from Devanampatinam saw the boat. Meanwhile Balakrishnan and Damodaran fainted.

The boat was towed to the shore. The duo were admitted to the Cuddalore Government Hospital for treatment.

The fishermen again towed the boat to Nallavadu along with Kulasekheran.
