Jamshedpur, Feb 29 (UNI) JCT Club of Punjab entered the final of Under-19 JRD Tata Youth Cup, edging past Kolkata's Mohan Bagan 2-1 in the semis at the JRD Tata Sports Complex here today.
JCT scored goal in the very first minute of the play through Lalnunzira, who received a pass from the right flank and unleashed a piledriver to defeat on-rushing Bagan goal keeper Koushik Ghosh.
JCT led 1-0 during the breather.
Bagan captain Sanjay Boro got the equaliser in the 67th minute when a goal-bound shot deflected from JCT custodian Ravinder Singh and Boro made no mistake to tap the ball into the net (1-1).
Launching a counter attack, JCT was awarded a direct free kick on the top of the box in the 76th minute, and mid-fielder Jaswant Singh took a swerving shot, which found the net (2-1).
Bagan then went all out to score a goal and their strikers missed a couple of chances, including a sitter by Suraj Singh, just before the final whitsle.
JCT will now clash with the winner of the second semis to be played between TFA and SAI, Delhi, tomorrow.
