Hike in education share welcomed
Mumbai, Feb 29: The 20 per cent rise in the allocation for education in the Union Budget has been welcomed by educationists here.
Mr K S Karthik, CEO of 24X7 Learning, told the sources that raising the budgetary allocation for education to Rs 34,400 crore, will give the education sector a fillip. He also welcomed the decision to establish three more Indian Institutes of Technolgy saying this would help in providing more quality professionals.
He suggested that a portion of the allocation should be utilised for training and retraining the 3.5 million graduates who pass out annually so that they are employable.
