Washington, February 29 : British singer Sir Cliff Richard strongly believes that young artists these days really need to dress creatively so that they appear different from their contemporaries.
The 'Wired For Sound' star, who feels that all modern-day artists "look the same", said that he adopted some unique fashion choices when he began his career because he was desperate to appear different to his contemporaries.
He further said that current pop stars needed to follow in his footsteps.
"When I first started out in showbiz I didn't want to look like everyone else. So I went out and bought a pink jacket which made me different," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
"I just don't understand now why the young artists all want to look the same. They all wear the same baggy trousers and the same baggy tops. I couldn't bear to look like the rest," he added.
