Melbourne, Feb 29 (UNI) Cricket Australia (CA) has come down heavily on it's players criticising them of acquiring double standards and allegations that CA had caved into pressure from BCCI.

Earlier, Australian opener Matthew Hayden was reprimanded for calling Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh an ''obnoxious little weed''.

''We have supported the players getting a 1 million dollars paycheque in India in the IPL,'' a CA official was quoted a saying by Daily Telegraph.

''We have done all the work there to get that going. And not one cent of that comes back to us or to grassroots cricket. We don't hear anything about that,'' he said.

During India's ongoing tour Down Under, CA and it's players have got involved in tussles on various occasions, whether it was sponsorship deal related to the Indian Premier League or the racism row involving Harbhajan and all rounder Andrew Symonds.

The newspaper also quoted the official that captain Ricky Ponting has often thanked the board for it's support during the board meetings which he attended regularly.

''We have a broader responsibility than just to the (CA contracted) players,'' the official said adding ''more communication is needed between the two parties in this area.'' UNI XC RAR ND1452
