Christchurch, Feb 28 (UNI) New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has cancelled Lou Vincent's contract after the batsman signed with the unsanctioned Indian Cricket League (ICL).

NZC chief Justin Vaughan said the board will stand by it's decision and will not consider any player for national duties if he signs with the rebel ICL.

''I have met with Lou and the New Zealand Cricket Players Association over the past couple of days and have expressed to them how disappointed I was that Lou had breached his NZC contract,'' Vaughan said.

''We stand by these contracts regardless of performance or injury and we expect players to do the same.

''I understand the NZCPA will be talking to players about the need to honour the terms of their contracts,'' he said.

Vincent has featured in 23 Test matches for his country and scored 1332 runs at an average of 34.15 with three centuries including a highst score of 224 against Sri Lanka.

Before Vincent, Chris Cairns, Daryl Tuffey, Chris Harris, Nathan Astle, Craig McMillan, Hamish Marshall, Shane Bond, Andre Adams and Adam Parore have already joined ICL at the expense NZC contract.
