Ahmedabad, Feb 28, 2008 : Arowana, a freshwater fish, native to South East Asia has acquired popularity in India's western Ahmedabad as an auspicious symbol. Arowanas are considered 'lucky" by many people particularly those from Asian cultures.

Its reputation derives from the species' resemblance to the Chinese dragon, considered an auspicious symbol. A good healthy Arowana fish grows at least 24 to 30 inches long and locals in Ahmedabad are showcasing these dragon fish in their homes and offices.
