Hyderabad, Feb 28 (UNI) Opposition TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today said the party would continue with its struggle till the Centre announced an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy.
Addressing a press conference here, he demanded that the Centre immediately implement the recommendations of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices Commission (CACP).
He took objection to Union Agricultural Minister Sharad Pawar's statement that the state governments were not cooperating in implementing the MSP for agricultural produce.
Both the State and the Centre had neglected the agricultural sector, he alleged and said the country would face food shortage if proper measures were not taken to increase the agricultural production.
Demanding that the state government waive the agricultural loans taken by farmers, he said the government should provide sufficient fertilizer and seeds to the farmers, whose crops were damaged in the recent rains.
