Red sanders seized, three held in AP

Guntur, Feb 28: Forest Department officials have arrested three persons and impounded a lorry containing 226 logs of red sanders valued at about Rs 10 lakh here.

The arrested were smuggling the red sanders, weighing about 6.56 tonne to Dhanbad in Bihar from Tangutur in Prakasam district when they were arrested last eveing.

Department sources said the seizure was based on specific information on the illegel activity.

The arrested persons would be produced before the First Class Magistrate Court here later in the day.
