Jaipur, Feb 28 (UNI) Rashid Hamad of Qatar and Sutiya Jiewchaloemmit of Thailand won the gold medals in individual event in men and women section of the Asian Clay Shooting championship at the Jagatpura Shooting range here today.India palced third in the medal tally winning highest 21 medals including thre gold, 11 silver and seven bronze medal. Kuwait was on the top in the tally with 19 medals whie Kazakstan finished second with 12 medals.
India's 15-year-old Saniya Sheikh could win bronze medal in the women section. UAE's Saeed Al Maktoum was on the top in the qualifying round with a score of 121 out of 125 but in the final he lost his rhythm and placed sixth. ''I used to shoot in the open sky but here I was disturb mountains. I could not set my target properly'', Al Maktoum said after the event.
World champion Abdullah Al Rashidi of Kuwait was jointly second in the qualifying round finished fifth.
Rashid Hamad and Zaid Almutairi of Kuwat shot 144 each but in the shoot off, in which Hamad won by 12-11 while Mohammed Ahmed could only shoot one in two shot and won bronze medal.
Navin Jindal placed 15th place in this event. He could make only 110 score.
