Passenger launch capsized in Bangladesh, 25 bodies recovered
Dhaka, Feb 28 (UNI) At least 25 bodies were so far recovered after a passenger launch with about 150 passengers on board turned turtle in the Buriganga river on outskirt of capital Dhaka this afternoon.
Police said the MV Sourav launch was sailing from Dhaka Sadarghat Terminal for Munshiganj but it soon capsized after being hit by a sand carrying cargo near the Buriganga First Bridge at Postogola at about 1500 hrs (local time).
Fire brigade and coast guard divers recovered 25 bodies-- 12 women, 5 children and 8 men. The rescuers feared that 25 to 30 passengers were still missing.
