Ranchi, Feb 28 (UNI) Demand over removal of Jharkhand Chief Secretary P P Sarma and alleged misbehaviour of a government official recently with a legislator today led to unruly scenes in the state Assembly.
As soon as the Speaker resumed seat to begin the day's business, the Opposition started demanding removal of the Chief Secretary (CS) who was on a month-long leave.
BJP's Raghubar Das raising the issue alleged that the CS had been misusing his position and power and indulged in financial irregularities.
Other members also demanded his removal and a CBI inquiry into the matter.
During zero hour the matter again rocked the House with Mr Das saying financial scam against Mr Sharma stood at Rs 50 crore. He said the CS went on long leave and urged to remove him before initiating any inquiry against him.
In another issue, Rashtriya Janata Dal members, ally of ruling UPA, made vehement protest sitting on the floor and demanding strict action against Deputy Superintendent of Education at Palamu for his alleged misbehaviour with a party legislator at a meeting recently.
RJD's Ramchandra Chandravanshi said the DSE recently misbehaved with him at a district level meeting following which the Speaker asked the HRD Minister to inquire into the matter within a week.
Not satisfied with the ruling, they sat on the floor demanding immediate action against the officer.
However, state Chief Minister Madhu Koda said he had called the officer to the head quarter in the capital.
Mr Koda said he would be punished if found guilty.
