Oppn walkout over 'anti-farmer' stand of BJP Govt.
Bhopal, Feb 28 (UNI) The Congress-led opposition today staged a walkout in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly alleging the BJP government's alleged anti-farmer attitude.
Before and after the walkout, the house witnessed heavy uproar with the treasury bench locking horn with opposition members over the Central assistance to drought-hit farmers.
The opposition was peeved over Minister of State for Revenue Narayan Singh Kushwaha's 'inability' to furnish data on the central assistance sought by the centre and the damage to crop.
Agriculture Minister Gopal Bhargava's certain remarks were expunged by Speaker Ishwardas Rohani following repeated demand by agitated Congress members.
The Speaker was forced to appeal all members to maintain the great traditions of the house and to present a good image before the denizens of the state.
