Haryana MP denies involvement in kidney scandal
Chandigarh, Feb 28 (UNI) Congress MP Jai Prakash today strongly denied allegations of his involvement in the Gurgaon kidney scandal, saying he had no direct or indirect connection with the case.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Jai Prakash said his political detractors were trying to spoil his reputation by making false allegations against him.
Reacting to the opposition demand for his resignation, he said if ever there was a blot on his character, he would not only resign as an MP but renounce public life for ever.
Claiming that his name was dragged into the scandal due to misunderstanding caused by the statement of Dr Upender, an accused in the kidney case, that he was under the patronage of an MP named Jai Prakash.
He said there were four MPs with this name in Parliament and Dr Upender had never mentioned Hisar, his constituency, or the Congress, his party said in the statement.
