CM responsible for holding up SSCP: Vaiko
Tiruchirapalli, Feb 28 (UNI) MDMK General Secretary Vaiko today said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was fully responsible for the hold up of the Sethusamudram Channel Project (SSCP).
Addressing a press conference here, he said Mr Karunanidhi's adverse remarks on Lord Ram was the main reason for the SSCP controversy.
Asked whether the MDMK would accept the implementaion of the SSCP by changing the route, he said ''SSCP is more important for the development of the state and at any cost it should be implemented.'' He also urged the Chief Minister to avoid remarks which hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
To a question regarding the Centre's decision to file an affidavit before the Supreme Court pertaining to SSCP, Mr Vaiko said he would react only after getting the full details of the Centre's decision.
