New Delhi, Feb 28 (UNI) It was another hot day for people of Delhi today as the mercury rose sharply to 30.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal.
Continuing its rising trend since last week, the maximum temperature today shot up to 30.5 degrees Celsius, from 27.2 degrees Celsius yesterday.
The sharp rise in maximum temperature brought about tremendous warmth in the air in the city.
Earlier in the day, the minimum temperature was recorded two degrees below normal at 10 degrees Celsius.
The warmth in the air is likely to persist over the next few days with the weatherman forecasting continuance of a rising trend in minimum and maximum temperatures over northwest India in the next few days.
The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours.
