Tata awaits govt's nod on 3 green field projects
Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Tata Steel Chief Operating Officer H M Nerurkar today said the company was awaiting government's nod to begin their 12-mt green field project for Jharkhand which was already delayed by nearly 16 months.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the three-day international meet on steel here, Mr Nerurkar said the much-awaited rehabilitation and resettlement policy of Jharkhand government came in the way of its implementation. ''We hope that the government would come with the policy soon to enable us to begin our project at Tontoposi in Seraikela-Kharsawan district,'' he said.
About the 6-mt Kalinganagar project in Orissa he said ''we are expecting to begin it in March.'' He asserted that there was no opposition and apprehension among the locals about the project in that state now.
Referring to the 5-mt project in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh he said land acquisition was in the process adding the RR policy in that state also was yet to be framed.
