NAREGA to be launched in Moga from April
Moga, Feb 27 (UNI) All preparations have been made for the launching of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act Scheme (NAREGA) in the district April one.
Previously four districts of the state-- Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahar, Jalandhar and Amritsar were covered under the scheme and now central government directed the state government for launching of this scheme in all the remaining 16 districts.
Deputy Commissioner Satwant Singh Johal said here today that Panchayati Raj Institution are all poised to play a very vital role for the successful implementation of the scheme. Training workshops for the success of the scheme had been carried out for the sarpanches and panches.
He said that Block Development and Panchayat officers and other concerned officials of rural development department and other departments were being specially trained to prepare the required documents, such as job cards. The rural families found eligible during survey would be given job cards and wage employment cards, he added.
