KLO leader to go on fast demanding political status for prisoners
Malda,Feb 27 (UNI) A Kamtapur Liberation Organisation leader today decided to go on an indefinite hunger strike demanding political prisoner status for all KLO prisoners across the state.
Malkhan Singh, who is incarcerated in the Malda jail since 2004, informed the jail super of his decision to go on an indefinite fast from tomorrow.
Presently, only he enjoys the political prisoner status.
In a letter written to the super, Singh also demanded the unconditional release of around 200 KLO men undergoing jail terms across the state.
He said when political activists of other parties were released soon after their arrest why should KLO cadres be treated differently.
Incidentally, North Bengal KLO chief Jiban Singh had asked the cadres to go on a 2-day hunger strike from tomorrow on similar ground.
