Regarding Water Supply Scheme for Munak Link Project, she said that both Haryana and Delhi Governments would construct their respective portions of this canal by December 2008.
Haryana had been persuading the Delhi Government to complete the construction work of the canal concurrently with Haryana so as to prevent wastage of water in their portion.
With the efforts of Haryana Government the Delhi Jal Board had now given an undertaking that they would complete 13 kms of work on the channel, which constitutes their portion of the work on the Delhi side by December this year.
About 22 kms of the portion of the canal falls in Haryana which will also be completed by that time.
Outgoing Chief Secretary said that Haryana had also raced ahead of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in the preparation of Commonwealth Games scheduled in 2010.
The preparations were on the right track for making availability of 10,000 rooms during this prestigious international event. A Rs 2900 crore project for the water supply and sewerage of 37 cities and towns of the State had been sent to the World Bank, she said.
