Haryana to spend Rs 200 cr on village streets
Chandigarh, Feb 27 (UNI) The Haryana government would spend Rs 200 crore for the pavement of streets in 2000 villages of the state during the next financial year.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh here today said the pavement of streets was the basic infrastructural necessity at village level to provide better facilities within the villages.
He said Rs 157.37 crore was allocated by the Finance Department to cover 1573 villages at the rate of Rs 10 lakh per village under the Plan Scheme for 2007-08.
He said during the current financial year, the concrete streets would be constructed with a cost of Rs 50 lakh in each village having more than 50 per cent population of Scheduled Castes.
Besides, the construction work of 151 sports stadia with a cost of Rs 50 lakh each was in progress at village level, he added.
