Govt approves 6,711 new Anganwari centers in J
Jammu, Feb 27: Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet has approved creation of 6,711 additional Anganwari Centers in 140 Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) projects of the state under phase III of ICDS expansion scheme.
The Cabinet meeting, which was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad last evening, also approved creation of 6,711 posts of Anganwari workers and same number of helpers for the new Anganwari centers.
The Cabinet also gave nod to creation of 268 additional posts of Supervisor with one supervisor for each 25 Anganwari Centres in the pay scale of Rs 4,000-6,000.
For the purpose of selecting Anganwari centres, the Cabinet accorded sanction to the constitution of a committee for each district with District Social Welfare Officer as its Convener.
Similarly, the CDPO of concerned block will be the Member Secretary of the said committee.
The concerned BDO will be the President of Taluka Panchayat/Block Advisory Committee while district representative of the State Social Welfare Board will be the members of the committee, an official statement said.
