4 charred to death in match factory explosion in TN

Chennai, Feb 27: Four people were charred to death in an explosion in a match factory at Bhuvaneswaripet near Gudiyatham in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu this morning.

Reports received at the police headquarters here said all the bodies were charred beyond recognition.Police and fire service personnel managed to extricate three bodies from the debris. Efforts were on to take out one more body.The cause of the mishap, which occurred at around 0930 hrs this morning, was not known.

The building where the factory was housed was completely gutted and razed to the ground.
