Dhudhare to attend international fencing camp in France

Patiala, Feb 27 (UNI) Fencer Ajinkya Dhudhare of Maharashtra has been selected as a trainee-fencer to attend an international fencing camp slated for March 9 to 21 in Fountain Belu, France.

Stating this here today, Fencing Asoociation of India (FAI) secretary-general Arun Kumar Vij said that Federation Internationale d'Escrime (FIE) would bear all his expenses during the camp. Fencers from thirty countries would pariticipate in the camp.

Mr Vij said that the FIE had also sponsored NIS-trained fencing coach, Lalit Kumar Singh, presently training the young fencers in Yadavindra Public School here, to undergo a four-month Olympic Solidarity Course in Hungary from March 14 to June 19 this year.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) had sent his name to FIE for the Course on the recommendation of Fencing Association of India (FAI), Mr Vij said.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir State fencing coach, Rachna Jamwal, and NIS fencing coach in Kerala, Sagar Laggu, have been sponsored by Khazakistan Fencing Federation (KFF) to undergo advanced fencing course from March 9 to 21 this year in Almaty, Khazakistan.
