Deora directs OMCs to assure LPG supply to West Bengal
New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today directed state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) to immediately take remedial steps to improve liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply in West Bengal.
He assured the ex-Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Batin Sengupta, who met the Minister here, that government is already seized of the issue regarding LPG supply backlog in some parts and has taken initiatives to enhance availability as well as to check diversion of domestic LPG for unintended use, an official statement said.
The Minister informed that additional imports have been tied up by the oil companies besides operating LPG bottling plants during extra hours and holidays.
Mr Sengupta had complained about delay in LPG supply to the consumers in West Bengal.
