Badal pays tributes to Gurdev Bains
Chandigarh, Feb 27 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today described the 'Bains family' as one of the most respectable and finest families in the state which had made outstanding contribution to strengthen the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) through their selfless service and dedication.
Addressing the Bhog ceremony of Gurdev Singh Bains, the elder brother of Media Advisor to Chief Minister Harcharan Bains here at Gurdwara Santsar, Sector 38 (West), Mr Badal termed the untimely demise of Mr Gurdev Singh as a personal loss to the SAD in general and to him in particular.
Mr Badal said that Mr Gurdev Singh was a die-hard loyalist of the SAD who worked in unison with his brother Mr Harcharan Bains during the last assembly elections.
Prominents amongst those who participated in the Bhog ceremony were BJP state chief Rajinder Bhandari, a number of ministers besides Editor, Punjab Kesari Group Vijay Kumar Chopra, Editor-in-Chief of The Tribune group of newspapers H K Dua, Editor Hindustan Times Kanwar Sandhu, Editor-in-Chief of Chardi Kalan Jagjit Singh Dardi, Editor, Amar Ujala Nitish Joshi, Editor, News Times, Labh Singh Ahluwalia and a large number of media persons.
