Asha Hooda praises Red Cross work in Panipat
Panipat, Feb 27 (UNI) Asha Hooda, Chairperson of Haryana Child Welfare Council today lauded the role of Red Cross Society and said that the Panipat Red Cross Society had set an example in the state providing help to the needy and poor family under various socio-development programmes.
Mrs Hooda was addressing at a function organised by local Red Cross Society in Shivaji Stadium here today.
Mrs Hooda, commenting upon the activities of the Society also praised that in a short span of six months about Rs 1.40 crore help was delivered to 15000 poor family in the district.
The Chairperson also called upon the village women to come forward to save the girl child and to educate the children for the upliftment of the society. She expressed her great concern over the decreasing of sex ratio and needed to be improved by changing social attitude which was dire and fire need of today.
On the occasion, Mrs Asha Hooda distributed the utensils of worth Rs.14 lakh to the 4200 poor and needy, handicapped, widow and orphans of the district.
