APBL launches Baron Strong brew in North

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) The Indian operations of Asia Pacific Breweries Limited (APBL), one of the leading players in the Asia Pacific region, today unveiled the launch of Baron's Strong Brew in India.

Baron's, a corporate brand of APBL, is the first international premium strong beer to be brewed and launched by APBL's Indian arm.

Brewed under the supervision of Heineken N V's technical wing, using European malt, hops and yeast, Baron's Strong Brew offered Indian consumers a strong, high quality premium beer using imported malt, hops and yeast from Europe, the Company said in a release here.

''Baron's honours the fine European tradition of brewing'', APBL Brewing Manager Johan De Deyn said. ''While its basic ingredients stay original, the taste has been refined to suit the Asian palate'' he added.

The beer is being initially launched at Delhi in 650 ml and 330 ml bottles priced at Rs 50. The brand aims to carve a strong position for itself in the premium international strong beer segment and will be progressively rolled out in other parts of North India, the release added.
