Chennai, Feb 27 (UNI) Dasari Prabhu, the kidnapped son of Union Minister of State for Coal and popular Director Dasari Narayana Rao, today managed to give a slip to his abductors in neighbouring Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, and reached the city.
Dasari Prabhu told a private Telugu News channel that the kidnap was stage-managed by his wife Susheela, who had been harassing him over property rights. He was abducted by a group of people close to his wife at Chittoor, yesterday, he claimed.
He said he went to Chittoor along with his wife, mother-in-law Savitramma and her son to call on his ailing brother-in-law. After checking into a hotel, a six-member gang, under the pretext of discussing some urgent issues, abducted him and took him in a waiting car.
Chittoor Police have registered a case on the basis of a complaint from Susheela.
He was held hostage in a house in Chittoor, from where he managed to escape and reach Chennai, Mr Dasari Prabhu said.
He said he would soon file a petition in a Hyderabad court, seeking divorce from Susheela.
