Punjab Communist Party to hold 3-day conference from Feb 29

Moga, Feb 26: The three-day conference of Punjab state unit of Communist Party of India will commence on February 29 at Tarn Taran.

The conference is being held prior to the party's national congress to be held in Hyderabad from March 23.This was stated by CPI state secretary Jagroop Singh while talking to UNI here today. He said the conference would take important decision in view of present political situation especially in view of coming Lok Sabha elections. Besides, it will review the party's achievements and also the drawback, if any in the party programme.

According to Mr Singh, the conference would also review and discuss in detail the political situation in the state and the performance of SAD-BJP alliance government.

He alleged that the state government completely failed to improve financial health, and law and order situation in the state.

The CPI state secretary also alleged that even the much publicised atta dal scheme of the government was miserably failed.

"Due to wrong policies and anti people policies of previous Congress government and of the present alliance government, the economic situation in the state is in a mess. In view of such situation in the state, the conference would take some important decision."
