Mohun Bagan enters semifinal of JRD Tata Youth Cup

Jamshedpur, Feb 26 (UNI) The under-19 team of Mohun Bagan entered the semi-finals through lottery with Sporting D' Goa, as both the teams tied on points and goals in the JRD Tata Cup (U-19) Invitational Football Tournament here today.

Bagan defeated Sporting D'Goa by 2-0 in the first match. Both the goals were scored in the second half by substitute Suman Bose and Sourabh Chakravorty in the 75th and 82nd minutes respectively.

After the match both the teams playing two group league matches were levelled at three points each and the number of goals against and for were also equal forcing the organisers to go for lottery and the Kolkata team had the last laugh. Bagan was the first team to enter in the last four stage.

In the other match local outfit Tata Football Academy playing its first game in the meet trounced Air India 3-0. Striker T Binish struck twice (32nd and 64 minute) in each half, while substitute Niroshan Mani increased the tally in the 72nd minute.
