Lawyers protest over murder; 20 wounded
Farrukhabad, Feb 26 (UNI) At least 20 people, including 12 policemen, were wounded when police restored to lathicharge against the agitating lawyers in the Fatehgarh police station premises here today.
On February 24, advocate Arun Kumar Mishra was ransacaked and murdered by armed assailants when he was returning from Etah.
Demanding arrest of the culprit, law practisioners in larage number, converged at the police station.
Soon agitators resorted to brickbatting and manhandled the senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), besides vandalising police vehicles.
Later, the lawyers blocked the roads disrupting vehicular movement, which was lifted only after the District Magistrate's assurance.
To bring the Situation under control police used mild force and cane charged the mob.
At least 20 people, including 12 policemen, got injured in the incident, SP Laxmi Singh said.
