New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) With an aim to take India's dometic cricket to another level, the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) announced the names of three Australian cricketers who have signed-up for the Twenty20 tournament, today.
Players who have signed with the rebel league include former middle-order batsman Damien Martyn, fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz and opening batsman Mathew Elliott.
Chairman of the Indian Cricket League (ICL) Kapil Dev, said, ''these high stature Australian cricketers will definitely boost the quality of cricket, strengthen the teams, making the league showcase competitive cricket.
''It will provide our young domestic players, the challenge to test their skills with some of the best exponents of the game, thus fulfilling one of the key objectives of ICL.'' Kapil Dev further said that the newly roped in Australian cricketers have come on board with specific role plays to take Indian domestic cricket and it's players to the next level.
ICL's executive board member, Tony Grieg added, ''these talented players have been hand picked keeping the 20 overs format in mind.
Kasprowicz's line and length, Martyn's stroke play, would surely make it an enthralling experience for cricket viewers.'' UNI RAR RKM KN1927
