Existing Bangalore and Hyderabad airports to be closed
New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel today said the existing airports at Bangalore and Hyderabad would be closed once the new airports in these two state capitals become operational.
Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh Governments had undertaken various projects to provide connectivity to Devanahalli and Shamshabad airports that were in various stages of completion, the minister said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
Commissioning of the new airports was in pursuance of the provisions of contractual agreement signed with the airport companies, he added.
