Srinagar, Feb 26: Jammu and Kashmir Police Crime Branch has busted a gang involved in issuing fake appointment orders in the Kashmir valley.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, Kashmir, a case FIR No 50/2005 was registered with Crime Branch, Kashmir regarding duping of unemployed youths by a gang of criminals who used to provide them fake orders of appointment against monetary consideration.
Investigation of the case revealed that six persons identified as Mohammad Ahsan Sofi of Wasoora Tahab Pulwama, Manzoor Ahmad Ganie alias Danish of Sheer Pora Pattan, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Parray of Sheikh Pora Qazigund, Mohammad Shabir Sheikh of Kani Kadal Srinagar, Mehrajud-Din Dar of Modal Town Sopore and Noor Majeed Ahanger of Kanlibagh Baramulla, motivated unemployed youths to pay hefty sums on the pretext of arranging government jobs for them.
After receiving huge amounts, fake orders of appointment were provided to these victims.
During investigation, raids were carried out at several places which led to recovery of fake orders favouring different persons, type-writer being used for typing these fake orders, stamps of various government officers, authorities and two vehicles being utilised for transporting these orders to various corners of Kashmir valley.
The Charge sheet of the case has been presented before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar against the accused.
