Cong backs up Lalu's Rail Budget
Lucknow, Feb 26 (UNI) Terming the Railway Budget as ''balanced,'' Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) President Rita Bahuguna Joshi today said the Budget was favourable to both the common-man and the railway department.
''The Budget 2008-2009 which was presented before the Lok Sabha by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad is noon, is not only developmental, but also favours the commOn-man,''the UPCC chief said.
''Facilities to poor and the common-man are the top most priorities of this year's budget...it would take the country towards economic development,'' Ms Joshi maintained.
Where, no hike in passenger fares has provided relief to poor, farmers, youth and unemployed, the status of IV class employee given to the registered coolies was another appreciable move in the budget, she noted.
