BJP responsible for menace of terrorism: Kumaraswamy
Bangalore, Feb 26 (UNI) Coming down heavily on former ally BJP, senior JD(S) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today charged that the saffron party was responsibile for the menace of terrorism in the country.
Speaking after participating in a convention of Banjara Community, who felicitated him for establishing the Banjara Community Development Corporation during his tenure, he alleged that if more youth belonging to the minority community were turning to terrorism, it was only because of the acts of the BJP, which believed in gaining political power through divisive politics.
Stating he had no regrets for denying power to the BJP in Karnataka, he said that the BJP leaders did not seek transfer of power in a dignified manner but tried to blackmail him.
Declaring that JD(S) in Karnataka would strive hard for the welfare of all sections of the society if it would come to power, he said both the BJP and the Congress were responsible for the poor development of the State.
He also criticised former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who as Finance Minister under him had not bothered to release money for several pro-poor schemes initiated by his party. He described BJP's promise of supplying free power to farmers as 'impractical'.
