Top scientists to attend ''Science Congress'' in Jammu
Jammu, Feb 25 (UNI) Top scientists from across the country would attend the third Jammu and Kashmir Science Congress at Jammu University, beginning tomorrow.
Addressing mediapersons this evening, Dean academic affairs, Jammu University, prof BPS Sehgal said over 600 students representing different streams from various states would also participate in the three-day event.
''The theme of the Science Congress is 'Science and Technology for Sustainable Development' and it will focus on the broad areas including physical sciences, biological sciences, agricultural and allied sciences, medical sciences and engineering sciences,'' Prof.
Sehgal said.
''Science Congress is a platform which provides an opportunity for exchange of scientific ideas. The deliberations will take place in various plenary and technical sessions,'' the dean said.
''A total of 659 presentations will be delivered. Of which, 453 are oral and 206 are poster presentations across 15 science subjects.'' Meanwhile, the best three presentations in both oral and poster categories would be rewarded in different faculties. The event would be inaugurated by the J K Minister for Higher and Technical Education.
