Raje announces attractive packages for Sikhs, Gujjars

Jaipur, Feb 25 (UNI) Presenting the 2008-2009 budget in the State Assembly, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today announced attractive packages to appease the different communities living in Rajasthan.

To mark the 342nd birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singhji, Ms Raje announced beautification of the road the Guru passed by in Rajasthan during his historic yatra from Talwandi Sahib (Punjab) to Nanded Sahib (Maharastra).

Renovation and beautification of holy sarovar at Sahwa Sahib Gurdwara (Churu district), and to connect the shrine to main Nohar-Sahwa-Churu road, also the Sawarda Sahib Gurdwara near Naraina on the Jaipur-Naraina-Nasirabad road.

For Muslims, she announced grant of Rs 50,000 each to 400 madarsas, for computerisation and concessional land allotment for Madarsa Board Office.

Ms Raje presented a special economic package for the Gujjar community, which has been agitating over the demand of inclusion in the ST list.

The pakage would be extended to them as soon as the Ramdas Agrawal Committee constituted for this purpose, submitted its report to the government, she said.

Among other social groups, she pleased the Sain and dhobi community by announcing restricted holiday (RH) on the jayantis of Sain Maharaj and Gadge Maharaj respectively.
