Narmada, Kshipra to be linked for 'Sinhastha'
Ujjain, MP, Feb 25 (UNI) In order to maintain the constant flow of the holy Kshipra river during 'Sinhastha Mahaparva 2016', the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government has formulated a scheme by which Narmada river would be linked to Kshipra.
With the objective to make the river pollution-free, lakes with natural beauty would be developed at every three km from its origin and forest department has started working in this regard. Experts' have already warned about the plunging groundwater level and desert expansion in the Malwanchal region.
The water of Kshipra river was collected in dams for the 'Sinhasth' and other religious ceremonies. However, several drains being dumped into the river made it contaminated and unfit for 'drinking'.
