MP Assembly budget session begins

Bhopal, Feb 25: The 40-day budget session of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly commenced today with the address by Governor Balram Jakhar.

A total of 22 sittings are scheduled during the session slated to conclude on April 4. The annual budget for 2008-09 will be presented on February 27.

The budget session started with the traditional rendering of national song 'Vande Mataram'. Mr Tulsiram Silawat (Congress), who was elected in a by-election from Indore's Sanver constituency, took the oath as a member of the house.

After the Governor's address, Mr Kailash Chawla(BJP) moved the vote of thanks on the Governor's address and it was supported by Mr Lal Singh Arya (BJP).

Speaker Ishwardas Rohani, who adjourned the sitting till tomorrow, said debate on the vote of thanks would be held on February 28 and 29.
