Srinagar, Feb 25 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police have seized a large quantity of raw drugs and three processing machines from Anantnag district.
Official sources said police recovered 35 bags of fuki before the smugglers could transform it in opium at village Badroo in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.
Police also seized three processing machines, they added.
Meanwhile, a de-addiction camp will start functioning at Police Hospital in Police Control Room (PCR) here from March 1, according to police officials.
The centre will provide an opportunity for drug addicts and people misusing prescription drugs, who want to get rid of the unhealthy habit.
Police have organised a number of de-addiction camps in different parts of the valley during the past two months which have evoked an encouraging response.
Centrally-heated and having all the facilities, the centre will provide counseling and treatment to addicts besides admitting chronic addicts, an official spokesman said.
He said it has been decided to hire services of many prominent psychiatrists, physicians, clinical and social psychologists for treating the addicts.
