Ferrari ready to defend Formula title

By Staff

Mumbai, Feb 25 (UNI) World champions Ferrari are all set to face off challenges from teams like Mclaren Mercedez, BMW Williams and Toyota and defend their title when the Formula 1 season starts on March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix.

''Our goal is of course to win again, but we like this kind of challenges. We have set the standard in the last ten years with seven titles including five in a row from 2000-2004'', said Head Ferrari Press Office.

While talking to UNI, David Kluzer said today, Ferrari has built a strong team that was passionate and focussed on winning the premier motor sport title.

''We have maximum respect for all the teams, but they'll have to raise their level to beat us'', said Kluzer, who also acknowledged that Ferrari's 2007 was a close affair when they edged Mclaren Mercedez for the title, and that in 2008, the team would try and stamp their authority early on.

He also welcomed the participation of the smaller teams including India's Force One, and said all the teams in the championship were good.

''For Ferrari, the F1 and the GT circuits are important grounds to test our newly developed technologies which we transfer to our road cars which make them faster and safer. Also, the championship is good for promoting our name and for visibility in the public eye'', Kluzer added.
