By Staff

Jamshedpur, Feb 25 (UNI) Playing insipid soccer East Bengal and JCT drew 1-1 against SAI, Delhi, and Sesa,Goa, respectively in the JRD Tata Youth Cup (Under-19) Invitational Football Tournament here today.

After a barren first half, the Delhi team scored first against East Bengal in the 71st minute through substitute Nadung Bhutia, who also scored against Salgaokar Sports Club in the previous match.

East Bengal striker Chandan Das restored parity after nine minutes. Both teams concentrated their play in the mid-field and the forward line failed to convert the scoring opportunities.

Sesa opened their account when Amol Salgaokar managed to put the ball to the net in the 15th minute. The Goanese team were leading 1-0 during the lemon break.

However, mid-fielder Jaswant Singh of JCT drew parity for the Punjab team in the 53rd minute. Poor finishing before the goal mouth and lack of coordination among the players cost both the team.
