Lucknow, Feb 25 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government has made elaborate security arrangements at the disputed structure at the Ramjanambhoomi complex in Ayodhya though there was no concrete intelligence report of a threat by the terrorists, Chief Minister Mayawati informed the state Assembly today.
In a written reply to a question, Ms Mayawati said, adequate security arrangements had been made at the disputed structure at Ayodhya with review of the arrangements every three months by the standing committee.
''Besides, every month, Faizabad district administration monitors the security aspect and a mock drill and rehearsal is held to check the alertness of the policemen,'' she said.
''Though there is no specific terrrorist threat on Ayodhya, but the government was leaving no stone unturned to provide enough security due to its sensitivity,'' Ms Mayawati said.
At present, there are 15 PAC companies and six CRPF companies deployed at Ayodhya.
Replying to another question about the steps taken by the U P government to counter terrorism, the Chief Minister said, 111 check posts had been set up at the Indo-Nepal border to check inflitration while the Centre had given power to the state to check and arrest anyone within the radius of 15 km from the International Border.
She said the government had also set up 13 Nepal Border (NB) intelligence wing to get first-hand information about terrorism.
The state government had also reconstituted 39 special anti-terrorism cells in 38 districts of the state with 17 new cells.
