Jalandhar, Feb 25 (UNI) Civilian employees of the Adampur Airforce Station today staged a dharna demanding immediate arrest of the IAF officials named in the FIR logded in connection with the death of a Group D employee.
The civilian employees of the Airforce Station staged a dharna outside the station gate in support of their demands including immediate arrest of Wing Commander Bharat Kumar and Flight Lt Mani Ram Maurya, named in the FIR lodged on the charges of murder of one Sachin Bahari (26), a Group D employee and other persons responsible for his death.
They also demanded adequate security for the civilian staff working in the station and later submitted a memorandum of their demands to the SDM.
Defence Spokesman Naresh Vig in a press release stated that senior civilian employees and their leaders met Station Commander Group Captain FW Ambekar and presented a memorandum of their demands to him also.
The Station Commander gave an assurance that their demands would be forwarded to the concerned authorities and whatsover has to be done at the Airforce level was being done impromptu. Thereafter the Station Commander joined the condolence meeting called by the civilian employees union at the Station.
Sachin Bahari, an accounts assistant at the station mess, died on Saturday morning inside the Station premises. His parents and relatives alleged that he was beaten to death, whereas Airforce officials maintained that he committed suicide.
For fair, impartial and independent enquiry, a team had been constituted at the hightest level to carry out the investigations, Mr Vig said adding that all sort of assistance was being extended to the breaved family.
