Lucknow, Feb 24 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government will extend its full support for the upcoming National Games 2009 in the state, PWD Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui claimed here today.
In his address, Mr Siddiqui as the chief guest of the closing function of the VI State Games, said ''the government is extending full support to develop sports atmosphere in UP, which was in its lowest state.'' Mr Siddiqui, also the state Irrigation and Sugarcane Development Minister, added ''I was a football player in my school days and am pleased to see the girls participation in present days witnessed a big change...it is a good sign for future.'' Encouraging the participants, he said sportman gets to learn a lot from defeat instead of victory.
Mr Siddiqui said UP government would not leave any stone unturned for the development of sports in the state.
