Two days Bank strike in Bihar as part of nationwide closure
Patna, Feb 24 (UNI) Banking services in Bihar are likely to come to a halt for two days from tomorrow in response to a nationwide strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions(UFBU), a conglomerate of all major bank unions.
Announcing the decision for two days closure of all banks in the state along with the rest of the country following the failure of the unions' talks with the Indian Banks Association (IBA) on several issues including the merger, Banks Employees' Federation, Bihar state General Secretary B.Prasad told UNI here tonight that all public and private sector banks besides those of the RRBs would be closed on February 25 and 26.
''We expect all the 40,000 odd bank employees in the state would join the nationwide strike'', Mr Prsad said and regretted the possible inconveniences to the people.
Moreover, he said, if the unions' demands were not met forthwith they might go for an indefinite nationwide bank strike from March 24.
